How much does a website cost in South Africa?
Website costs in South Africa vary based on complexity. Basic small business websites start from R8,500, e-commerce sites from R34,999, and custom solutions vary. We offer flexible payment plans with a 50% deposit to start and the balance due before launch.
How long does it take to build a website?
Most websites launch within 2 weeks. Basic websites take 1-2 weeks, e-commerce sites 3-5 weeks, and custom enterprise projects 6-10 weeks.
Do your websites work on mobile devices?
Absolutely! All our websites are fully mobile-responsive and optimised for South Africa's diverse device market. Mobile-first design is our standard approach.
What payment methods do you accept?
We invoice you directly and you pay by EFT: a 50% deposit once you approve the concept, and the balance before we launch the site to your domain.
Do you offer SEO services?
Yes! We specialise in SEO services for South African businesses. Our local SEO optimisation helps you rank on Google.co.za for keywords like 'web design Cape Town', 'web design Johannesburg', and other South African search terms.
Do I own the website when it is finished?
Yes. Once the final payment is made, the domain, the files, and the content are yours. We hand everything over and you are free to take it to another developer at any time.
What if I don't like the design?
You see the first homepage concept before you pay anything, so you can walk away at no cost. After that, each package includes revision rounds to refine the design until it is right. If we still cannot get there, our refund policy sets out exactly where you stand.
Who hosts it, and what does it cost after launch?
Hosting is included in any monthly retainer. Without a retainer you arrange your own hosting, which for a site this size typically runs R50–R150 a month, plus your domain renewal of around R100–R200 a year. We tell you the exact figures before launch. No surprises.
Can I update the content myself?
Yes. We walk you through editing text, images, and prices before handover, and you get written notes to refer back to. For bigger structural changes, or if you would rather not touch it, that is what the monthly retainer covers.
What happens if you are not available later?
You own the files and the domain, so your site keeps running and any developer can pick it up. Everything is built with standard HTML, CSS, and JavaScript rather than a proprietary system, specifically so you are never locked in.
Am I tied into a contract for the monthly plan?
No long contract, but the plans do need 30 days' notice to cancel, by email or WhatsApp. They are billed monthly and run until you cancel. When you leave you take your files and your domain with you and either host the site yourself or move it to another developer: nothing is built in a proprietary system designed to make leaving hard.
What does the monthly plan actually cover?
Hosting, weekly backups, security and SSL monitoring, and a set amount of content update time each month: one hour on Starter Care, two on Business Care, four on Pro Care. Business Care adds a monthly SEO report and a same-day reply on weekdays, and Pro Care adds support for shops and booking systems. The update time is what keeps prices, photos and hours current; anything larger than the plan's hours is agreed with you before it starts.
What do you need from me to start, and how long does it take?
To start: your logo if you have one, a rough idea of the pages you want, and any text or photos you already use. Most sites go live within two weeks of the deposit and content landing. The main thing that slows a project down is waiting on content, so the sooner that arrives, the sooner you launch.
